Film Photography in the Digital Era

LED Wall - Second FloorInterested in film photography but not sure where to start? Join us for a three-part film series to learn more about film cameras, film formats, processing, and how to scan your work!
Thursday, October 3rd, 5-6pm - Introduction to Film Photography
- During this lecture Melrose Photography Instructors will guide those new to film photography on subjects such as film cameras, different film formats, basics on processing at home or where to process elsewhere, and finally how to scan your film.
Saturday, October 5th, 10:30-11:30am - Film Photography Walk
- Bring your film photography equipment and come explore Downtown Orlando with us. Melrose Photography Instructors will be on hand to help with any questions that you may have about exposure, your equipment, or even composition!
Thursday, October 10th, 5-6pm - Scanning Film Demonstration
- This demonstration will show you scanning techniques and how to get your film from a negative to a digital positive! And, how to take an analog photo into the digital space to be able to be shared online or for a professional print. This will be done with the Melrose Center’s Epson V-850 scanner. This is a great opportunity to learn how to use our scanner which is available for the public use with a Melrose Center General Orientation.

Orlando Public Library is the headquarters and resource center for the Orange County Library System. The library has been located at this site since its beginnings as the Albertson Public Library in 1923. Public Reference Departments in Orlando Public Library include Children’s, Library Central, and Learning Central. The Children’s Library offers spacious areas, special programs, computers and story rooms for our youngest readers and readers to be. The Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation and Creativity is located on the second floor. The Friends of the Library Third Floor Bookstore is open daily and recycles withdrawn and donated books to the community.
