Join the Southwest Book Club to discuss Solito: A Memoir by Javier Zamora. A poet reflects on his 3000 mile journey from El Salvador to the United States when he was 9 years old. Faced with perilous boat trips, relentless desert treks, pointed guns, arrests and deceptions during two life-altering months alongside a group of strangers who became an unexpected family.
Registration required. For ages 18+
This is a Virtual Event hosted through Zoom. An additional invitation including the link will be sent to all registered the day of the event via email. A computer with access to the internet and speakers or headsets are required. A webcam and microphone are suggested to fully participate. Please note that Zoom allows you to share your video and audio with the group. If you choose to enable these settings, you are consenting for you to appear on audio and video. This event is not being recorded and we ask that out of courtesy to the other participants, please refrain from screen captures, photography or resharing information about the participants or the discussion outside of this event.
