Wanting to make socks but unsure where to start? Join us as we learn techniques to crochet socks from the toe up! This is an advanced class, and will require a firm foundation of crochet skills.

This class is a series, held on Fridays, May 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th at 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM.

  • Class Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes
  • Age Requirements: Adult
  • Recommended Prerequisite: Crochet in the Round
  • Required Skills: Someone who can adjust patterns to their own preferences, substitute yarn, and produce neat results consistently in flat, round, lace, and three-dimensional projects.
  • Materials Fee: None
  • Out of District Fee: [$10 dollars per part of part of class] (includes class and materials fees)

Required Materials: Students will need the following materials to complete the project: 

Sock Size (can be worn in shoes):

  • Yarn: 262 - 450 yards of fingering or sock weight yarn
  • Hook: 2.25mm, or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors
  • Stitch Markers
  • Optional: Printed pattern for progress tracking/keeping notes

Slipper Size:

  • Yarn: 200 - 340 yards of worsted weight (size 4) yarn
  • Hook: 3.75mm, or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors
  • Stitch Markers
  • Optional: Printed pattern for progress tracking/keeping notes

Level Description
Beginner Someone who grasps the most basic stitches and can finish simple patterns with aid.
Confident Beginner Someone who easily handles standard stitches and can follow simple patterns.
Intermediate Someone who can follow most patterns with ease, is able to read stitches and charts, and to whom working in the round is no longer a challenge.
Advanced Someone who can adjust patterns to their own preferences, substitute yarn, and produce neat results consistently in flat, round, lace, and three-dimensional projects.
