Knitting - Level 2

Learning Cube - Second FloorLevel up your knitting. Learn how to combine knit and purl stitches to create smooth fabric. Techniques include the purl stitch, counting stitches and rows, using stitch markers, and fabric sides.
- Class Duration: 1.5 hours
- Age Requirements: 13-Adult, 11-12 with accompanying adult
- Recommended Prerequisite: Let's Knit Level 1
- Required Skills: Someone who grasps the most basic stitches and can finish simple patterns with aid.
- Materials Fee: None
- Out of District Fee: $10 (includes class and materials fees)
Optional Materials: Materials are provided for this class. Students may bring the following materials to complete the project:
- Yarn: Size 5/bulky weight yarn, preferably in a light color to see stitches
- Needles: Size 10.5 (6.5 mm) needles
Note: Knitting skills are necessary to be successful in this class. New to knitting? Check out Let's Knit Level 1.

| Advanced | Someone who can adjust patterns to their own preferences, substitute yarn, and produce neat results consistently in flat, round, lace, and three-dimensional projects. |

Orlando Public Library is the headquarters and resource center for the Orange County Library System. The library has been located at this site since its beginnings as the Albertson Public Library in 1923. Public Reference Departments in Orlando Public Library include Children’s, Library Central, and Learning Central. The Children’s Library offers spacious areas, special programs, computers and story rooms for our youngest readers and readers to be. The Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation and Creativity is located on the second floor. The Friends of the Library Third Floor Bookstore is open daily and recycles withdrawn and donated books to the community.
