Join us for our Mastering Genealogical Proof study group focusing on genealogical methods and reasoning.

This three-week study group uses the book Mastering Genealogical Proof by Thomas W. Jones. If you are an Orange County Library Card holder and would like to check out a copy of the book during the duration of the study group, please send an email to: genealogy@ocls.info.

Tuesday, May 21st

  • This week we will cover Chapter 1: Genealogy’s Standard of Proof; Chapter 2: Concepts Fundamental to the GPS; and Chapter 3: GPS Element 1 Thorough Research.

Tuesday, May 28th

  • This week we will cover Chapter 4: GPS Element 2 Source Citations; and Chapter 5: GPS Element 3 Analysis and Correlation.

Tuesday, June 4th

  • This week we will cover Chapter 6: GPS Element 4 Resolving Conflicts and Assembling Evidence; Chapter 7:GPS Element 5 The Written Conclusion; Chapter 8: Using the GPS; and Chapter 9: Conclusion.

This event occurs online through Zoom.  Please provide your email at registration to participate.  A device with access to the internet and speakers or headsets are required. An email will be sent before the event with more information on how to join.
