Use a variety of crochet techniques to create a mason jar terrarium out of yarn! We will be discussing in the round techniques and pom pom making during this class!

This class is a series, held on Wednesdays, April 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th at 10:00am - 11:30am.

  • Class Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes
  • Age Requirements: Adult
  • Recommended Prerequisite: Crochet in the Round
  • Required Skills: Someone who can follow most patterns with ease, is able to read stitches and charts, and to whom working in the round is no longer a challenge.Advanced 
  • Materials Fee: None
  • Out of District Fee: $10 dollars per part of part of class (includes class and materials fees)

Required Materials: Students will need the following materials to complete the project: 

  • Yarns: About 170 yards total of worsted Size 4 Medium yarn in earthy colors (shades of green and brown)
  • 1 quart sized canning jar
  • Optional: Lights, fairy figures, dollhouse decorations, etc. to decorate your terrarium
  • Hooks: US-J 6.0mm Crochet Hook
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Scissors
  • Stitch Markers

Note: Crochet skills are necessary to be successful in this class. New to crochet? Check out Let's Crochet Level 1.

Level Description
Beginner Someone who grasps the most basic stitches and can finish simple patterns with aid.
Confident Beginner Someone who easily handles standard stitches and can follow simple patterns.
Intermediate Someone who can follow most patterns with ease, is able to read stitches and charts, and to whom working in the round is no longer a challenge.
Advanced Someone who can adjust patterns to their own preferences, substitute yarn, and produce neat results consistently in flat, round, lace, and three-dimensional projects.
